The words stay simple. Underneath them is the full HOPE journey: a card opens a relationship, discovery shapes the plan, and follow-through turns progress into restoration.
01 · The handshake
A Daily Dignity Card meets the immediate need. The handoff starts a relationship and creates room for the next conversation.
02 · Intake & discovery
Member, advocate and counsellor discover the goal, identify the funding need and build a Personal Vision Plan together.
03 · Restoration Track
Follow-through turns milestones into unlocked resources and funding as personal goals are met and the Vision Plan is realized.
Card → relationship → plan → progress → restoration.
How it works
Every gift enters the same Hamilton pool. Choose a quick mobile gift or help through an advocate already building trust face to face.
For anyone with a phone
See a HOPE card, scan it and choose an amount. The card can then open approved essentials at participating local vendors.
For advocates and outreach
Trained advocates carry cards through approved partner programs and hand them over inside a relationship that already exists. Trust travels with the card.
What it buys
HOPE value opens approved essentials and practical supports across participating Hamilton businesses. The experience stays clear at the counter: tap, choose and continue.
Partner kitchens and cafés. A hot meal served with dignity.
Bus fare and tickets for appointments, work and a safe ride home.
Workwear, winter boots and practical layers through vetted local vendors.
Laundry, barber and shower supports that make daily dignity practical.
The ladder
Daily dignity becomes a Personal Vision Plan. As trust and engagement grow, the plan matures into a Restoration Track with people and resources around it.
TodayDaily Dignity Card
Immediate food, transit, laundry and personal care make today more possible.
The card stays simple. The human relationship begins around it.
PlanPersonal Vision Plan
A member, advocate and counsellor build the plan together around the life the member wants.
Documents, health, recovery, work, education, housing and community become visible goals with a team around them.
RestoreRestoration Track
Consistent engagement and human validation open the resources matched to each meaningful step.
Micro-grants, larger purchases and direct provider payments support housing, treatment, education, tools and work readiness.
Members can see goals, achievements and next steps. Trusted partners validate progress in person, open the right supports and keep walking the plan toward restoration.
The loop
Every gift produces a clear trail from the city pool to a real redemption, while member privacy stays protected.
Gifts pool so support follows need fairly. You see a real redemption your contribution helped cover, with the member's identity protected.

became a hot meal
Wednesday afternoon
Member identity stays private.
You see the impact while the person keeps their story.
The engine
One pool, two ways value is released. They serve different purposes and obey different rules, and keeping them distinct is what makes the model both safe and powerful.
Release one · the handshake
Fast, dignity-preserving and unconditional at the floor. A gift loads $5 to $25 for approved essentials at vetted local vendors. Every member can eat from day one.
Purpose: survival and dignity, today.
The Restoration Track · the destination · phase two
The lane that changes trajectories. Value accumulates toward bigger goals and is released by a human being: a counsellor who builds the plan with the person and approves each step. The charity pays the provider directly.
Purpose: a changed trajectory.
Trust by design
The Foundation holds all program funds and retains legal direction and control. Settlement remains a human finance process.
Value stays within approved essentials at vetted vendors or counsellor-directed payments to landlords, schools and clinics.
Member privacy stays protected through data minimization. Donors see impact while members keep their identity and story.
Food, transit and basic dignity stay available across every tier. Milestones open supports above that floor.
Restoration can support arrears, deposits, furnishings and landlord assurance alongside the City's established coordinated-access process.
Achievements and verified progress open program tiers. The Foundation moves the actual dollars within approved uses.
Radical accountability
We track stable restorations: housing that holds, goals that keep moving and relationships that stay connected over time.
Stable restorations.
Housing is a beginning. Community is the long game.
From intake through two years after housing, ongoing touchpoints pair practical retention support with community connection and trusted handoffs.
The goal is a life supported by relationships, purpose and belonging — with progress shared openly and member dignity protected.
Why now
The money is already being spent, on shelters, emergency rooms, ambulances and police calls. It funds the symptoms while the trajectory stays flat.

net cost per person per year of a Housing First intervention, after offsets
MHCC At Home / Chez Soi
Housing First recovers most of its own cost while housing people the status quo fails: about $8.27 of other service spending avoided for every $10 invested with high-need participants. Restoration is close to the cheapest thing a city can buy.
Why HOPE
01
Built alongside the city's existing outreach community, with local charities, kitchens and vendors who already do this work every day.
02
Value stays within approved categories and vetted vendors, keeping each tap clear for members and staff.
03
Member identity and daily activity stay private. The card carries the gift; the person carries themselves.
04
A named advocate builds trust over time, and a named counsellor holds the restoration plan. Human accountability carries the work forward.
05
Anyone can give and anyone can receive. Faith-rooted support is warmly available while practical care remains equally open to everyone.
06
Screening, boundaries training and incident reporting are in place before advocates begin serving members.
The faith is the soil. HOPE is the seed. The seed grows for everyone who needs it, whatever soil they came from.
HOPE is faith-rooted in its design and open to everyone in its practice. Those who want faith-rooted support are warmly walked toward it; those who want practical support receive exactly the same care. The choice is always the person's.
